Editorial is an article published in newspapers and magazines containing opinionated content. The point of view may be the company’s (media) or the writer’s (editor, columnist), without having to comply with the journalistic duty of impartiality.
As in any published material, the editorial also has the objective of informing, but it is not obligated to be neutral or indifferent, since it expresses the author’s view on the subject discussed.
Usually, newspapers and magazines reserve a space in the first few pages to publish the editorial. To highlight the content from the rest of the articles, the editorial has a border or even a different typography from the other materials, making it clear that the text expresses an opinion.
Basically, the editorial text is made of events and points of view. These points of view are responsible to convey the interpretation of the facts.
